According to a research report released by Xiangcai Securities, domestic sales of excavators in China returned to positive growth in June after a brief decline in May. Looking ahead to the second half of the year, driven by the accelerated export of second-hand smartphones and policies, the demand for updates is expected to continue to be released, supporting the growth of domestic sales of excavators. In terms of exports, the growth rate of excavator exports in June also rebounded significantly compared to May. In the second half of the year, with the improvement of overseas market demand and a low base, excavator exports are also expected to maintain growth.
Since the beginning of this year, leading construction machinery companies such as Sany Heavy Industry, XCMG Machinery, Zoomlion Heavy Industry, and LiuGong have continued to experience steady growth in their overseas markets, with overseas sales accounting for nearly or exceeding 50%. The pace of domestic recovery has gradually shifted from excavators to non excavation equipment sectors, with a good start. Looking ahead to the future, leading construction machinery companies are generally optimistic. While the domestic market is steadily recovering, it is expected that the overseas market will continue to maintain a good trend.
Excavator sales both domestically and internationally have increased
On the evening of July 7th, the China Construction Machinery Industry Association released a sales report on the main products of the construction machinery industry in June, which showed that in June 2025, China sold 18804 excavators of various types, a year-on-year increase of 13.3%. Among them, the domestic sales volume was 8136 units, a year-on-year increase of 6.2%; The export volume was 10668 units, a year-on-year increase of 19.3%.
According to the association's statistics, the operating rate of China's main construction machinery products in June was 56.9%. Among them, the operating rate of excavators is 58.2%, loaders is 59.5%, truck cranes are 73.3%, crawler cranes are 58.7%, and forklifts are 53.4%.
In recent years, China's leading construction machinery enterprises have accelerated their overseas expansion and entered high-end markets such as Europe and America. Among them, excavators have become one of the main export forces.
According to customs data, based on the export value denominated in RMB, the export value of construction machinery in China in May was 36.168 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.1%; The export value from January to May was 165.91 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.2%.
