1.1. Environmentally friendly coatings

Traditional solvent based coatings generate a large amount of pollutants during production and use, which have a serious impact on the environment; In recent years, in accordance with environmental protection requirements, the government has encouraged the use of environmentally friendly coatings with low VOC content, such as water-based, high solid content, and powder coatings, to replace traditional solvent based coatings and reduce the pollution generated by the coatings themselves. The performance comparison of different coatings is shown in Table 1:

In recent years, many agricultural machinery painting lines have switched from solvent oil-based paint to water-based paint. During production and operation, it was found that although the concentration of VOC waste gas generated has decreased, for cities with strict environmental standards, it is still necessary to add waste gas treatment facilities. In addition, water-based paint is sensitive to the temperature and humidity during construction, and the spray booth needs to start air conditioning to control temperature and humidity during the production stage, which undoubtedly increases kinetic energy consumption, equipment maintenance, and operating costs; The increased kinetic energy consumption will result in higher carbon emissions, which is not conducive to achieving low-carbon environmental protection requirements. With the widespread application of powder coatings in the manufacturing industry, the price of powder coatings is gradually decreasing, and they have the advantages of high powder recycling rate, no "three wastes" generation and treatment facilities, and low comprehensive energy consumption. Therefore, they are gradually being promoted and applied in the painting line of agricultural machinery structural parts.
